No bugs around I wonder! Why?

One of the bugs the skinks do not eat,

they only live where there is garbage or dung and rather than go to a smelly dump. I opted to go to a cleaner environment, or so I thought  this being an area where all the tourists  have a stroll  along the lower walk of the promenade, this is the area already under re construction IE all the cruise ships and the moorings  ,fuel pipes etc have been moved ready for the dig  where I am walking will eventually be the level of the new prom,
  but here there is nothing for the skinks.  so I walk on to where the boats are parked sometimes 11 in a row.

there are a few gardens here  But also a dump for kitchen waste from the boats. here the flies gather  plus the rats, and its a good feeding area for our bug cleaners, the skinks,  and there are hundreds of them here often the run across the walk to get a drink in the Nile,  these  are about 6" in length  Not sure what they are once they grow bigger, if they grow any larger the next size I have seen are over 9" then they are monitor lizards.

 making it bigger than the one found in the Philippines

The other little  bug eaters are the Grecos  last night there was 6 on the wall opposite my balcony,  I live watching these move  looks like the wall is velcro. and these have velcro pads on the feet.  photos taken with flash from 30ft

House sharing

No need to get frightened this is a very small house spider and a friend,  not that I give it a cuddle or stroke it,
its my friend because it eats things that bite me, such as flies.mosquitoes and other little flying insects.
it does not make webs not that I have seen in my home anyway,  this particular friend lives near the balcony window  and catches the flies on the window 

so quick:-  as I was taking its photo the fly stopped for a poop. and  wallah. its diner time for my friend

This photo you can see the fresh fly dropping, it will dry solid in 5 mins as its 40c in my flat at this moment.and if you think that's hot go to yesterdays temperature on nilelife2

Strange type of fellow this Welshman that lives in Luxor Egypt,  not really its just that I notice who and what I share my life,  my home with.     do you ?

Night life, greco

Considering I have not been out of my flat today, due to back problems.
I have seen 3  pairs of turtle doves,  several sparrows came and sat on my balcony railing. a kestrel. lots of pigeons, a couple of hooded crows fighting over a piece of bread. and this evening  I have been watching the Grecos (3) Chasing flies on the wall across the alleyway.
amazes me how they can move just as fast up a wall as along the flat.
